At high frequencies the openings and joints of a technically usable metal shell are particularly important in terms of their shielding qualities. It is they,

rather than the thickness of the walls for instance, that determine the attenuation characteristics, which tend to be well below that of an ideal shell. In

order to ensure good shielding in the RF range as well, it is necessary to seal the area where the D-sub connector meets the wall of the appliance, bearing

in mind that the contact between the appliance and the D-sub connector is at short, pre-defined intervals. The shorter these intervals, the greater the

shielded frequency spectrum.

Bei hohen Frequenzen sind die Öffnungen und Fügestellen eines technisch verwendbaren, metallischen Gehäuses besonders kritisch hinsichtlich ihrer

Abschirmeigenschaften. Durch sie - und nicht etwa durch die Wandstärke - werden die Dämpfungswerte bestimmt, welche weit unter denen eines

idealen Gehäuses liegen. Um auch im HF-Bereich eine gute Abschirmung zu garantieren, ist es nötig, die Schnittstelle zwischen D-Sub-Steckverbinder und

Gerätegehäuse abzudichten. Hierbei ist zu beachten, dass Kontakt zwischen Gehäuse und D-Sub-Steckverbinder in definiert kurzen Abständen besteht. Je

kürzer diese Abstände sind, desto breiter ist das a/jointfilesconvert/1590459/bgeschirmte Frequenzspektrum.
